Richard Glencross

Richard Glencross is a CSES senior consultant and works on  projects with a significant legal content. He was a partner for 30 years in Clyde & Co LLP, an international law firm. He has been involved in a number of assignments for DG JLS (now DG JUST) such as the revisions to Brussels 1 and studies relating to the attachment of bank accounts and the rights of suspects in criminal proceedings.

He has a wealth of experience of handling disputes mainly for commercial clients both in court proceedings and arbitrations and covering the whole gamut of contractual and civil law issues, as well as fraud and other criminal conduct. Whilst he was in practice, Richard dealt with proceedings at all levels of the English High Court from First Instance, principally in the Commercial Court, to the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords. Most of the cases he handled over the course of his career as a litigation lawyer involved jurisdictional issues arising from cross-border transactions of one sort or another. Working with local lawyers, he represented clients engaged in proceedings all over the world, including in the US, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the Peoples Republic of China, India, Turkey, Israel and Eygpt. He brings to the team all this previous experience as a legal practitioner.
